A beautiful, quaint property perched on the side of a mountain with an old‑school feel that’s pretty charming. The heating didn’t work and the internet was slow.

Breakfast comes in the room: eggs cooked with an egg cooker, bread & butter, cereals, tea and coffee. There’s a toaster, kettle, microwave and a fridge. Don’t buy the nonsense some reviewers spread about the access road – they’re clearly people who’ve never driven outside their towns. Yes, it’s a farm track, but it’s well maintained and there’s never a big drop near the edge. The farm animals are a treat and the night sky is spectacular (if it’s not too cloudy). Nothing else comes to mind.

Absolutely nothing! The property sits deep in a rural/farm area, reached by a long, poorly maintained, apparently unsafe/unmade stretch of road that feels intimidating and could deter guests. On arrival, there were also unsettling features outside that added to my safety concerns. Before getting there, I tried calling Mr Jones repeatedly but got no answer, which was worrisome given the isolated location and hard access. The room is extremely small, the stairs are very steep, making entry difficult and potentially unsafe. Overall, the place feels very unusual, isolated, uncomfortable and unsafe, and I was extremely uneasy staying there. The most serious issue is the complete lack of mobile phone reception. In a remote spot with an unsafe access road and no reliable way to call for help, this is a major safety concern. I’m surprised this property is advertised without disclosing these critical issues. I urge an urgent review of the property to ensure it meets safety standards and that the listing clearly states the remote location, difficult access, steep stairs and lack of mobile coverage. I understand accommodation isn’t for everyone, but this isn’t about preference or comfort—it’s about basic safety and suitability.
