I remember the hotel’s hey‑day in the 1960s, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the location and large terrace were great, yet the creaky wooden floor, outdated bathroom, tiny room, and angular staircase were disappointing, and the food selection was limited but well cooked.

The place sits right on the high street and the staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was decent, and I’ve stayed here before and love Tecklenburg; the historic charm is obvious, though the rooms feel a bit old‑fashioned and the Wi‑Fi in my room was poor.
