The location is great, the facilities are good, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The couples spa treatment is highly recommended! However, construction is ongoing, and there was some noise and a burning smell.

We enjoyed the most comfortable stay here; every staff member was friendly and helpful with a smile, the room was clean and spacious, breakfast offered an excellent variety, other restaurants also served very good food, the location was great for nearby activities, and the overall ambiance of the hotel was excellent. I couldn’t find anything to dislike.

The warm welcome from Mr Hassan and Mr Francis made me feel right at home; the staff were friendly and the all‑day dining restaurant served amazing food for breakfast and dinner, earning big compliments for the chef and team. I truly relaxed and had some very soothing days, though the hotel’s maintenance work at 1 am was very noisy.

Staff at the restaurants and bars were very nice and polite, but the room allocation + noise from guests next door spoilt the all experience. Check-in and room assignment was very bad. 1. I was with my partner for a romantic weekend away. In my special request (when I booked) I asked only for 1 thing . a quiet room, possibly in an area with no noise. 2. At the check in, instead, they assigned us a room with a connecting door to another room occupied only by very young kids (very noisy). Their parents should have had the connecting room with their own kids . no? why us? 3. The noise and screaming was non-stop and it turned out to be pretty bad for the all weekend. 4. I wonder why a 5 star hotel can have such a bad check-in process and room management / organisation . hotels like the Waldorf should have a dedicated areas (or floor) for families with kids separated from area (or floor) with couples only and adults. I have never had such a bad experience before. It really spoilt and ruined our weekend. Check-in personnel should be better trained with rooms' allocation. We will not go back to Waldorf Astoria in RAK
