The rooms were spotless and the spot is super convenient – just a ten‑minute walk to the town centre and the main bus station. The place is quiet, the owners are friendly and quick to help, the beds are comfy and there’s an elevator serving the four‑storey building, so you can tell the property is well cared for. On the downside the décor feels pretty dated and not every room comes with an electric kettle; some units have a tiny shower‑toilet combo, although I was lucky to get a larger bathroom.

“A lovely, clean family run hotel in the centre of Samakov. Brilliant alternative to costly Borovets”

Toni, the owner, was genuinely helpful and a pleasant person, and the rooms were tidy and offered great value for the price. Being right in the centre of Samokov meant we were only a short drive from the Borovets slopes and within walking distance of several good restaurants. The only drawback was a constantly barking guard dog and the lack of an official breakfast arrangement with the adjoining café, which would have been a nice extra.

“Excellent weekend in Hotel Niko Samokov 👌”

The hotel sits just a five‑minute stroll from Samokov’s centre and nearby shops, and it’s only a ten‑ to fifteen‑minute drive to Borovets, plus you get free parking right out front. Our room was spotless, warm, and had a balcony with a nice view of the Rila mountains. The staff were friendly enough to let us check out after 4 pm without any extra fee, which was a pleasant surprise.

The room and bathroom were spotless, the host was friendly, and the location made it easy to get to both the Rila trails and the ski lifts. They kept the heating on through the night so the room stayed comfortably warm, although when we first arrived the temperature was still low and the heater needed a few hours on full blast to catch up. Overall the stay was quiet and undisturbed.
