The rooms are simple and efficient, the bedding was good. The staff are adorable; only one girl speaks good English, and when she’s not around the others make every effort to be understood. They’re very smiling and kind. Tap water is provided and there’s a small area for cooking.

I found a quiet corner amid the chaos of Ubud, and my boyfriend and I were very happy: the staff were kind and helpful, breakfast was excellent, and the shared kitchen was really convenient. We also liked the pool a lot. To get to Ubud’s center you have to take a taxi, but the place also offers scooters for rent, which is a very handy way to move around on your own. The bedroom is very basic; as a small improvement I would add a wardrobe to keep clothes more organized, or a little desk. I would also suggest cleaning the pool bottom more often, given the many beautiful trees around that inevitably drop leaves and other debris into the water.

The bed was comfortable and the place was pretty overall. Things I didn’t like were: the bed screens were torn and covered in mold spots; the outdoor bathroom was nice, but the red ants on the toilet were a problem; we had to ask for new towels and fresh toilet paper after we ran out; breakfast was very sparse and we had to ask for it three times because they kept forgetting, so for an omelette, two slices of watermelon, and a coffee we waited an hour and a half; the roof isn’t sealed, so all sorts of animals come in from outside. Two huge Tokay geckos entered at night…they’re beautiful, I love geckos, but the Tokay make a hell‑of‑a noise.
