I’m used to traveling a lot for work and have never had a bad hotel experience until now. The front desk staff were cold, unfriendly, and almost haughty. I wanted to park in the lot behind the hotel, as I usually do, but the ramp wouldn’t lift, so I had to leave my car almost on the street to check in. After paying for parking, I was shocked to learn I couldn’t park in the back because supposedly all spaces were taken, even though there was still room for one or more cars, and I was told to park on the street. If they had informed me earlier that no spaces were available, I wouldn’t have paid and would have gone elsewhere. As a foreigner with foreign plates, this was unimaginable and totally unacceptable, because I didn’t want the added stress of potential damage or theft the next day during my business meetings. This will probably be my last stay here, and any apology means nothing to me because the damage is already done; in the future I’ll choose hotels that won’t raise my blood pressure or cause me unnecessary stress.
