Breakfast was okay, water was always available, but coffee was very limited and rarely came with milk. Guests should be aware that none of the rooms have windows; they only have tiny vents. The rooms are fairly large but vary noticeably. Because the photos show all rooms, it’s hard to pick a specific one.

The bed was comfy and they gave us bathrobes, towels, and slippers, plus kitchen utensils and a great location. However, they didn’t account for the number of guests – it was meant for three but they only set up for two – and the bathroom was too small and lacked a shower partition.

The hotel sits in a prime spot close to Dakar’s central station and the main plateau attractions, and the whole staff was friendly, accommodating my requests, exchanging money, and accepting my credit card, which was the only place in Senegal where that happened. The room was nice, the bed comfortable, and the Wi‑Fi worked well. I have to lower my rating because there are no windows in the room, not even one that lets in natural light. It’s the first time I’ve slept in a room without daylight, and it was a real discomfort; if I’d known, I’d have booked the balcony room.

The staff were available and the premises were clean. The downside was the lack of a permanent restaurant.
