First, I want to thank Elaine, who runs the place; she's wonderful, helpful, polite, and tried everything to make my stay as pleasant as possible, handling everything with care and always ready to help. The lodge could be comfortable but needs a lot of repairs: important details like the door sills were completely destroyed by termites, the electric shower shocked, and broken glass in the door separating the room from the lodge’s interior let insects in. I had frogs and cockroaches in my room. Regarding location, there are a few nearby things—a market and a restaurant—but it takes about 20 minutes walking to Icaraí’s commercial area. The beach right in front of the lodge is wonderful.

It’s close, the room is good, and it’s quiet. I thought the GPS was cowardly, directing me to go the wrong way, and I didn’t feel safe on a dirt path through a thicket; it’s better to go straight, take the return, and head down the main avenue.

The room itself was clean, but the online pictures were way off. We ended up with a bunch of fairly large ants crawling around, and the shower was a nightmare – it warmed the water but leaked from several spots and barely functioned. I’d expected a lot more given the photos and the reviews.
