The host was very welcoming. The breakfast was marvelous, and she gave excellent advice for hiking in the region.

The breakfast was amazing, so filling that we didn’t eat again until the evening, and the spot’s location was perfect for using it as a base to hop between villages. The only downside was the noise from the main road while I tried to sleep.

We liked how easy it was to reach Burton on the Water and appreciated being out in the countryside away from the crowds; our ground‑floor room was very comfortable, with comfy beds, a mini fridge, a sofa for lounging, and a convenient parking spot right in front. The breakfast was excellent, offering fresh fruit and a wide selection of eggs and meats to suit any preference. We also enjoyed spotting the goats out back, and Jill was a wonderful host. Burton on the Water gets busy during the day but calms around 5 pm, making it easy to find a restaurant after the day trippers leave.
