The couple were very kind. The stay was only three nights, but I’d like to come back longer next time. It’s the best spot for surfers. Owner Miran has all the boards and offers both rentals and a school. There’s a Japanese‑speaking coach, so I had no trouble at all. Nothing to complain about.

Both hosts, Milan and Sadhya, were extremely welcoming and kind. The location couldn’t be better: it’s about 1 minute / 80 meters back from the beach, no roads to cross, basically a private access path. Milan runs his own surf school, located right at the end of the beach access path, and he and his surf teachers are all excellent and experienced. There’s a wide variety of great restaurants along the beautiful beach as well.

The owner couple were fantastic. The owner is a 30‑year surfing legend from Hikkaduwa, who runs surf lessons on the beach in front of the inn and knows everything about the waves there. After surfing, I could casually drop by and chat, which was the best moment for a solo traveler. The wife was very friendly, always checking in and chatting, and I had several cups of authentic Ceylon tea at the table in the lobby. What I’ll never forget was the homemade curry with a huge fish that was so large I couldn’t finish it. The location is perfect: about ten steps from the beach via the back entrance, and the inn faces the main road, so it’s convenient for everything; countless tuk‑tuks are waiting for guests nearby. Occasionally, the honking of speeding public buses is the only road noise that bothers me. The inn sits in the center of the area where foreign travelers stay and dine, so there are plenty of activities besides the beach. An ATM is within five minutes, and there are many small souvenir shops around, plus a large modern supermarket for foreigners about ten minutes away where you can get ingredients and snacks that foreigners like, so even on a long trip you won’t get bored. It was an unforgettable trip and I’m sure I’ll visit again. As for the location and the fact that facilities vary with the room price, that’s expected. Therefore, the price of staying here is extremely good value for money. The fact that many long‑time regulars stay here is proof of that.

A Magical New Year by the Ocean with Surfing and Caring Hosts! Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) Date of Stay: December 2025 — January 2026 Our winter vacation and New Year's celebration at this guest house exceeded all expectations! The house is located on the first line, with direct access to the ocean from its grounds. Stepping out in the morning with a cup of coffee to the water's edge was a priceless feeling, the very reason it's worth coming here. The hosts were a delight in themselves! Very warm, hospitable, and attentive people. Always ready to help, offer advice, and create a truly home-like atmosphere. You feel not like a tourist, but a welcome guest. The surf school was the main highlight! Since we came for the waves, having the school right opposite the most popular reef was the deciding factor. · Milan is a true professional and enthusiast of his craft! He explains things clearly and patiently, literally getting everyone standing on the board. Thanks to him, I didn't just try it out, but genuinely started catching waves on that reef. · The school's facilities are very convenient: there's a shower after lessons and a safe place to leave items like a camera for tripod shots and your personal belongings. No need to drag everything with you. Overall Impression: We had an unforgettable holiday, took tons of emotional photos against the backdrop of ocean sunsets and our first successes on the board. It was an active, eventful, and very heartwarming vacation. We definitely recommend this guest house to anyone looking to combine a stay by the ocean with quality surf instruction. P.S.: It's especially wonderful to celebrate New Year here — with fireworks, the ocean, and a friendly atmosphere!
