Hartwood Hall, a former coaching inn, is situated on Chorley's outskirts, near Astley Hall. Individually styled rooms feature private bathrooms, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi. The hotel boasts a licensed restaurant and bar, and is close to a themed amusement park, the UK's largest Mormon temple, and within an hour of the Lake District. M61 access is nearby.

I appreciated the strong security and the generous space in the room, and the meals were great. The shower was small and the bed a bit hard, but it was still manageable.

From the moment you drive in, you know it’s going to be special. The reception was quick and excellent, the bar offered a good selection of drinks, and the staff were very accommodating. I only stayed for one night.
