The place was quiet.
A solid spot to catch the ferry. The receptionist was friendly and helpful, and the bathroom was large with a powerful shower. The only downside was the lack of coffee or tea facilities in the room.
“Très belle endroit”
The room was very spacious, and the managers were friendly.
“Worth considering if you need a night from / to the ferry.”
The hotel’s location works well as a quick stop when arriving late on the Dover‑Dunkirk ferry, especially if you don’t want to cycle until the next day. Finding the property was easy, and I was greeted in a friendly, efficient manner and given a space to store my bike. The room was decent, with a comfortable bed, a good shower, and provided toiletries. Loon Plage doesn’t have many dining options, but a few pizza spots are within walking distance; the one I chose was fine. The rates were very reasonable, so I didn’t expect too much. Loon Page itself is a pleasant place. The hotel was very quiet—though that isn’t necessarily a bad thing—and I’m not sure if there were other guests, but none were noticeable. Breakfast was reasonably priced but sparse, and overall the place felt a bit run down.
A strange place that felt empty, with staff gone by 8 pm. There was no restaurant (as advertised) and the bar closed when the staff left. A huge pile of loo rolls was left behind the reception desk.
