The staff and owner were very friendly and helpful whenever we needed anything. Booking the jungle trek was the highlight; our guide, Edi Caterpilar, taught us a lot about the jungle, and we spotted many orang‑utangs, monkeys, and even a strange river turtle. The rafting at the end was also worth doing, giving a nice finish to the trip.
“Cheap and cheerful, decent common area for meeting people”
Mr Yao does his best to help you, even if you don’t book the Bukit Lawang tour he keeps trying to sell. The showers are clean with good pressure, just pipes, and offer a refreshing break from Medan’s heat. It’s close to plenty of food options and a mall.

From the outside it doesn’t look the best, but the warm energy from the owner makes you overlook everything else, and it’s a real hub for backpackers arriving in Melan or heading out. The bathrooms could use some improvement, but as a backpacker the price is worth it. Lol.
