The location was spot‑on with direct lake access, very quiet and serene, rooms were spotless, and the staff were wonderful. No issues.

The Sopherl am See is a nicely positioned mid‑range hotel. Being on a side street by Wesslinger See keeps it very calm. The breakfast matches the hotel’s standard, as do the rooms. Charging electric cars works if the charging points aren’t already taken, which often happens because there’s no signage. You’ll need a “Ladeverbund +” card; I can’t say anything about roaming with other operators. We booked a double room with a balcony but only got a standard room without one. We didn’t mention it because we were just passing through and exhausted, but that’s not ideal. The price of about 300 € per night pushes the 4‑star status, which the hotel never actually reaches, so the value for money is lacking.

Good breakfast buffet – everything fresh and always plenty – on weekends there’s also champagne. Very friendly, attentive staff – the junior chef couple is always present and actively helps to make the guests’ stay as pleasant as possible. The breakfast terrace is a little gem… also very pleasant for business people to work during the day, beautiful, traffic-free directly on Wesslingsee, idyllicly set in nature, swimming and SUP possible, because there’s a private dock – top! Modern rooms and an exceptionally well-equipped gym. Top cleanliness and friendliness throughout the hotel area. Comfortable underground parking with elevator, and everything well thought out for cyclists… great bike paths around the surrounding lakes. Perfect connection nearby with S-Bahn to Munich (30 min). We were not there for the first time.

The quiet location, the friendly staff and the possibility to swim in the lake right in front of the hotel all pleased us very much. We’ll come back gladly.
