STAY AWAY! There’s no reception or staff—this is a self‑check‑in place. I got clear instructions on how to get in, but when I opened the door I found two half‑naked people sleeping in the kitchen/hallway, clearly on drugs. In my room there was a foul smell, a man in bed, and empty alcohol bottles. I left and slept in my car because I didn’t feel safe. I paid for everything, but after seeing the inside I’d rather have slept in my car.

The owner sent a clear email with step‑by‑step instructions for self‑check‑in, which was easy to follow. The room was very clean, neat, and tidy, and the kitchen was the same. There were nice pictures in my room and the corridor. It’s in a quiet spot, so I slept calmly. The price was great value for the room. Since it’s a self‑check‑in place, if the guests keep the public areas clean after use, the place stays clean and worth staying.

I couldn’t reach Highpoint Dundee by phone, but they were somewhat active online. The hotel was self‑check‑in, very clean, and comfy. What I didn’t like was their communication methods; they should improve that.

I wouldn't recommend this place; I had to go to the pub round the corner because I couldn't get access, and I was told I'm not the first one to come in with the same problem number. Either way, I might as well sleep in the park; at least you'll get a place to lie down.
