“Una Estancia Pa NO repetir”
The view and location were nice, but I wouldn’t stay again. I used this hostel as a base to cross to Ilha Grande; the highlight was Marcelo’s excellent attitude and willingness to help, and the night‑shift young man was also very helpful. Unfortunately, another staff member was unhelpful and rude. When I returned from Ilha Grande for a new check‑in, he forbade me from using the kitchen right at lunch time, claiming it was being cleaned, yet I checked and it was clean and ready to use. Another major issue was the cleaning lady who smokes inside the hostel, leaving a strong cigarette smell everywhere; I mentioned it to the staff but they did nothing and she gave me a bad look. There are better options in the area; if you want a warmer, more welcoming environment, look elsewhere. I stayed here as a base to go to Ilha Grande. The positive was Marcelo’s service, who welcomed me very well, always helpful and eager to guide. The night‑shift guy was also very attentive. However, the other employee was lacking in friendliness and assistance. When I returned from Ilha Grande for a new check‑in, he prohibited me from using the kitchen right at lunch, claiming they were cleaning, but I saw it was in perfect condition. Another unacceptable point was the cleaning lady who smokes inside the hostel, giving the place a horrible cigarette smell. I complained and they did nothing, and she even turned her face away from me. There are much better options in the region. If you’re looking for a welcoming service and a more pleasant environment, I recommend looking for another hostel.
