The staff were kind, the equipment had everything you need, and it was clean. The walls were poorly insulated, and the plumbing caused noise from the tap and the toilet flush.
The location was good. The walls are very thin, so there's a lot of noise—especially when someone flushes the toilet or uses the tap in their own room—and everything feels very basic. The price is still expensive for what you get.
“Top-rate Hostel! Highly Recommend!”
The hostel is top‑rate and has a very chill atmosphere, making it by far the nicest one I've stayed in across Scotland. I had made reservations and requested a lower bunk due to physical restrictions, and received confirmation months before my stay. When I checked in, I was given a top bunk instead, and the ladder was close to the slanted ceiling, leaving less than 20 inches of clearance to move in and out. I had to sleep in the lounge that first night. The reservation system and staff need to coordinate better and be more aware—this was a blight on an otherwise perfect experience.

The location was convenient for visiting the island of Skye. However, there were cockroaches in the room, the rooms were old and overcrowded with more beds than they should have, and they were never cleaned in three days. There were too few bathrooms for the number of people, parking space was scarce, you had to make the beds yourself, and the bathrooms were obviously not great given the number of people (only five).
The bathrooms and rooms were very clean and the staff were so friendly! I would stay again next time I come to the island!
