The breakfast was diverse and lovingly prepared; the proximity to Göttingen, Hannoversch Münden, and the beautiful surroundings was a plus, but the lack of room service over four nights was a drawback.

The stay was overall very pleasant; you can feel the love and care put into everything, making it flawless. The house has a special charm, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the dishes are made with noticeable care and effort, many sourced locally—a wonderful blend of quality and regionality. The only downside is that the Wi‑Fi in the room was somewhat challenging, which can be explained by the old timber‑frame house’s distinctive construction and solid walls.

The breakfast was good and plentiful, and I really appreciated the personal contact with Mr. Schilling, but the stairs to the upper floor have short steps that must be climbed.

The food was truly excellent! Unfortunately, the room we received was not the one we had booked and definitely not worth 154€ per night. For 154€ a night we had booked a nice room for the first Christmas holiday, as shown in the pictures on the site. When we arrived we were escorted out of the hotel into a small shed‑like house that had been converted into a makeshift room, as depicted in the photos, with cheap Ikea kitchenware, a fridge with an Oktoberfest magnet, a pest trap, cracks in the walls, a cheap Ikea bed and a gas heater that made loud noises all night. In short, uncomfortable for 154€ a night. When we asked, the staff could not explain what we were complaining about and were completely unhelpful. After a really good dinner (another 300€), the bill for the overbooked room was simply added to the restaurant invoice and we were even charged for an extra menu. Utter shamelessness! When we made it very clear in the restaurant that we would not accept this treatment, the bill was corrected and we received a 20€ discount. Even though the food was more than good and highly recommended, I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel.
