Guests enjoy Irish and European cuisine with vegetarian, gluten‑free and dairy‑free options, plus continental, buffet or full English breakfasts. On‑site amenities include a games room, bike hire, free parking, and proximity to Kerry Bog Village Museum and Dooks Golf Links.

The house offers stunning lake views and a quiet setting; the staff were friendly and the food quality was top‑class. The old‑house feel and vintage furnishings might appeal to some, but the communal rooms were suggested for guests, while most others were older and chose to stay in their rooms. Unfortunately, there was no TV, tea or coffee in the rooms, and luxury hotel staples like bathrobes, slippers, and hand/body lotion were missing.

The location is superb, though ordering tea or coffee from room service incurs an extra fee; a kettle and in‑room facilities would have been appreciated.

The family‑friendly welcome from Mary, Frank, and Claire, along with their team's professionalism and attention to detail, was impressive. Everything was perfect: the reception, location, comfort, décor, the lake right across where you can swim, the beautiful views from the rooms and the restaurant, and the divine meals. We stayed for two nights during our road trip in southern Ireland, and it was a refreshing, relaxing, and inspiring stop. The whole family loved it. The location is ideal for exploring Kerry and doing great hikes (like Carrauntoohil), and we will definitely return. Nothing was wrong; everything was truly perfect.

The setting and the house are beautiful, but there was a small issue: no tea or coffee facilities in the room. That said, we managed to have tea in our room in the morning without any problem at all.
