The place is interesting, the hotel itself feels more like an old castle. When we arrived, we told the front desk that the safe wouldn’t work; the receptionist said someone would check it, but that never happened. We mentioned again that it was still broken, and she came out, inspected it, and confirmed it was indeed not working. We slept there for 5 nights, and during that time the safe never functioned. On the last day we informed the staff that we were leaving early in the morning and asked for a cold breakfast package; the receptionist told us to go to the other building and talk to the waiter. We ended up getting the cold package ourselves, but we had to arrange the drink and cutlery; the hotel never provided those, unlike any other place where the front desk handled it. Usually it’s just a phone call. On the last day the cleaning seemed rushed, even leaving the cleaning fluid in the tap. The towel dispenser had one towel on the first day, then none, then later two towels appeared, so there are still missing items.
“22nd September at The Diplomat Club hotel”
The desk staff were lovely. The bed was uncomfortable, dogs barked late into the night for ages (the hotel can’t control that), and the breakfast waiter forced me to buy a second coffee because I had already used my “2‑drink” allowance for a coffee and a juice. Sort that out, guys—ridiculous policy.
“Bene ma non benissimo. 3 stelle, non 5”
Nothing particular to highlight. Breakfast was decent but the wait times exceeded an hour. Since staff started at 8:00, it was impossible to finish before 9:00 with a cappuccino and a slice of cake; by 9:30 a full service was available. In 7 nights the sheets were never changed. It’s not a 5‑star hotel, but it matches the price.
“Chisinau città molto verde e rilassante”
The property consists of two beautifully restored historic villas, with two pools surrounded by greenery in the hilly area of Chisinau. Few rooms, plenty of quiet. The breakfast is served at a table, not a self‑service. There are no elevators; the stairs are short but steep, making it hard to reach the reception and then the room, especially for those with heavy luggage or disabilities. In my room there was a strong, strange odor that I couldn’t identify—something like old floor wax, yet the room had carpet. When I complained, the receptionist shrugged helplessly, and I had to hold her arms.
Located among detached houses, this place offers comfortable rooms and a nice garden with two swimming pools. Everything was arranged perfectly. Soundproofing is good; I only heard dogs barking from neighboring houses. I could charge my car on site, and the restaurant is very good. The breakfast service is a bit slow; I’d recommend ordering in advance at the reception.
