“Decepcionante”

It’s an affordable spot, the bed was comfortable, and the climate and internet were crucial for our activities and for staying cool in the heat. The downside was having to keep touching to get them to open the door, they didn’t give us breakfast on any of the days even though it was included, there was no shampoo—just soap, and they only left us one towel; we had to ask for another. One day they told us that if we arrived after 10 we’d have to pay for them to open the door.

It wasn’t a good experience. The service was bad, the place was ugly, and the smell was awful. We decided not to cover ourselves with the sheets, just tossed them on the bed, the towels were stained, and there was a sign saying that if the towels were stained you’d be charged, so we didn’t use them. We rang the bell on a big gate. They answered without opening the gate, then let us in. They closed the gate and you feel somewhat insecure.

“À éviter”

The price in this area is Wi‑Fi. The hotel is 9 km from the airport, in a zone reputed to be controlled by narcos! Endless waiting in front of a huge metal gate, 6 m high walls and barbed wire above. An autistic kid appeared who had to call a boss to know which room, what price (he wanted to charge double the price found on Google) to apply. No shops, no restaurants within a kilometer—an absolute nightmare.

The truth is nothing. Nothing is understood; it’s a transit hotel, but at least for a stopover you’d expect decent service and lower prices.
