The staff were very friendly. There was a lovely pub in a nice area. Nothing to dislike.

The stay was okay for a quick night and a layover, but honestly I can’t point to any especially positive aspects. The room was quite small and the pillows had stains, which I find inappropriate for a place of accommodation. Also, the bathroom was shared and not particularly clean, although some of the grime seemed to come from other guests. Overall, it can work if you just need a place to sleep for one night, but I wouldn’t recommend it for a longer stay or if you’re looking for comfort and good cleaning standards.

We couldn't try the food because the place had just been taken over by new owners and the kitchen was being cleaned, but the new owners were very accommodating and offered several local dining options. The bar staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and we spent two lovely evenings there. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the beds were very comfortable. We travelled with our small dog, who was also well looked after.
