“Masterful design mixed with keeping comfort in mind whilst backed up by a great team.”
After staying at two excellent hotels on Rab and Krk Islands, we were nervous about the next destination. The drive to the hotel follows a fairly bland road with nondescript apartment complexes and offers no sea view, so the vibes weren’t great. However, once you leave the road and enter through the electric gates you realise you’ve reached the best place around. The modern design blended with craftsmanship is obvious from the start. Many modern hotels, especially in Spain, can feel cold; the Molum hotel uses natural, woody tones to create warmth throughout. We only saw the hotel building, but we can only imagine the apartments are equally beautiful inside, though we’re not sure they had the views we had. Check‑in at reception was excellent, with a welcome drink included. Our room was a King room with Seaview and it was fabulous. All the modern conveniences you’d expect were there, well‑designed storage, an excellent mattress and pillows, plenty of plug points, and easy‑opening doors that lead onto a fabulous terrace with fantastic views of sea and islands. The bathroom is also good, with good towels, fabulous Occitane products, and a great shower. Breakfast and dinner were very good, and you could choose to sit outside overlooking the swimming pools or inside a really nicely designed restaurant that felt like a proper restaurant rather than a hotel restaurant. Perhaps the best part of the whole restaurant experience is the team—they were friendly, polite, knowledgeable about the menu, cocktails, and wine, and had great language skills. My only negative is the absurd pricing of starters; I really hate this new move by restaurants to start pricing at €20 for a small starter. It’s rude and stops customers from experiencing the full range of what the chef can do. The team have almost thought of everything, but the best hotels often have a light‑reactive night light in the bathroom. It stops you having to wake yourself up in the middle of the night by turning on the light or keeping the light off and potentially peeing off target at 3 am. Just think of your men over the age of 50.
