The hot spring was beautiful and the non‑contact bath felt wonderful. The staff’s explanations were a bit too brief, which left me uneasy at first, but they clarified everything when I asked; it would have been better if they’d explained it from the start.

When we mentioned that we were celebrating a 90th birthday at dinner, the staff brought us a purple chan‑chan‑ko and even helped us pose for photos, which felt really thoughtful. The only real downside was the B1 large public bath; the floor was covered in hair and it was quite unpleasant, especially since everything else had been good.

The bed was wonderfully comfortable and the view gave a nice sense of openness, while the colorful wind chimes, umbrellas and the stylish chapel caught my eye and made me smile; parking was free and easy. My friend and I booked online, weren’t used to it, and ended up with rooms split between the main building and the annex, but that was fine. The large public bath was fun, with big fish and wave murals behind the glass that made me laugh, though a few shower stalls didn’t work and the washing area floor felt slippery; the stay cost just over ¥10,000 and didn’t include breakfast, which is a pity because even business hotels often add a light morning offering.
