Liz, the receptionist at the front desk, was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met; her smile, humor, and down‑to‑earth personality made our trip to Salem unforgettable. I was a bit surprised that customers had to pay for a continental breakfast and parking—after staying at several East Coast hotels, this was the only one with those extra charges. It wasn’t terrible, just a little odd.

The location was good, but even after pre‑checking online I still had to go through a long, annoying check‑in when I arrived. I booked two rooms, one checking out at 11 and another at 12, yet when I left the 11 o’clock room they also checked me out of the 12 o’clock room, so after using the pool again I couldn’t re‑enter that room.
