The receptionist spoke barely any English, and we were initially assigned an upstairs room even though we requested downstairs because we’re in our 80s. The room we finally received had only basic amenities and four bunks, despite booking a double bed with kitchen facilities. It felt like a motel unit—no table or chairs for meals, a cramped kitchen and bathroom stacked together, and minimal crockery. The ground outside the room was uneven, and we had to park far away and climb several steps to reach the room in the rain. The building looked renovated, but no effort had been made to improve the amenities. On the bright side, the bed was comfortable and the view was nice.
