“Clean and comfortable enough, but tired, neglected and not the standard we expected for the price.”
The place was clean, the bedding and towels were fresh, and the beds were comfortable even though they were old. We also liked the fresh milk and the tea and coffee that were provided. The property was easy to find and in a convenient spot for our plans. The downside was that it was very poorly lit at night and the lockbox instructions were unclear, which made our late arrival unsettling. The accommodation felt outdated and basic for the price, and the old, rusty shower screen wouldn’t close; the metal lip was sharp and I cut my foot stepping out of the bath. In daylight the wider property looked neglected, with overgrown gardens, broken gates, unused buildings and outdoor furniture covered in spiders and webs, so we couldn’t sit outside and enjoy the space.
