This hotel is nice. The staff are lovely, the breakfast is great (the best breakfast I've had in South America so far) and the room is comfortable. Having a kettle and plenty of tea bags was a big plus for me. The Wi‑Fi is stable and the shower has good water pressure and heat. Someone tried to meet me from the train, but the train didn’t stop at the station (it kept going a little further into town) so we missed each other. Google Maps led me through a market, which seemed odd but worked, so you can trust it. As other reviews mention, there is zero soundproofing; every word on the street is audible and you can also hear noise from inside the hotel. The hallway lights flicker on and off randomly, which is very bright and annoying. My room had many external windows, and the glass panel above the door was unnecessary—it should be boarded over or at least covered with thick black card.

The place was pretty clean and had four beds. It was in a good location near the train and bus and not too loud. The staff were nice. Reception arranged pickup and drop‑off of laundry for us and gave us umbrellas. The location was very close to the train but hard to find because the booking name was wrong; it listed the property as Andino “Classic” but we were actually booked at Andino “Machu Pichu”. These are different hotels, so the address we were given was incorrect. Also note there are no exterior windows—only windows to the hallway, elevator, and elevator shaft. The light in these windows would turn on and off at any time. The shower window provided some ventilation. Wi‑Fi was very spotty.
