The location to the ferry terminal was great—a short walk. The downside was that some stairs were involved to take luggage up to the property and rooms.

The location was great, close to shops, the bus station and the market, the place was very clean and the host very pleasant, but it’s hard to find if you’re not familiar with the city, the bed is very soft, and there are many stairs to deal with if you have a lot of luggage.

I was stuck in a cramped, grimy place just a short walk from Split’s old town, and it felt like a nightmare. The entrance was a dark, poorly lit alley smelling of stale pigeon droppings, with stairs that seemed dangerous. The host wasn’t very friendly, and the room itself was a mess: the lobby was cluttered, the tiny bedroom cramped, and the bathroom was filthy—looking like it had been “renovated” but it wasn’t, and the dirt was awful. A strong smell of old shoes stuck to my nose and ruined my suitcase. The fridge made a constant clanking noise, and the room had a faint metallic scent that lingered. The photos online were from over ten years ago and didn’t match reality. We had chosen this place based on those reviews, and it turned out to be a bad experience that made us want to spend the whole day outside and just go to bed.
