The location was extraordinary and the hosts were incredibly warm. Anyone looking for peace with a glacier view will be well taken care of here. The food was superb, especially recommended for game meat lovers. Thanks to the Winkler family. The stay was perfect for us.

The Berghaus sits in a stunning village at the start of the Gschlösstal’s flat section. All four rooms are wooden and cozy, sharing a large common terrace. The bathroom and showers are comfortable and efficient. Breakfast is plentiful and delicious. The kitchen stays open all day and serves many excellent dishes made from high‑quality ingredients. The owners are very friendly, speak several languages, and know the wonderful walks nearby. The Berghaus is reachable on foot via a pleasant stroll from the parking near the Matreier Tauernhaus; for those who don’t want to walk with luggage, a bus and taxi service are also available. Overall, the Berghaus delivers a genuine, unforgettable mountain experience. I hope to return soon!
