The view from the rooftop terrace is stunningly beautiful and the hotel’s location is simply perfect for exploring İzmir; we especially appreciated the incredibly friendly, patient, and attentive staff who made our stay very pleasant.

Hotel 86 By Katipoğlu’s prime spot in the city center, surrounded by shops, restaurants, cafés, and local markets, is a major plus, and it’s within walking distance of Kemeraltı Bazaar, Konak Square, and the seafront; the Çankaya Metro Station is just a few steps away, making city travel easy without taxis—this combination of central location, public transport access, and nearby amenities made it a very convenient choice, so if location and transport matter to you, I’d definitely recommend it.

The location was great, with the subway literally at the door, next to the bazaar and a short walk to the waterfront, and the staff were friendly; however, the place was extremely noisy, with a rattling sound from the street—metal on metal—throughout the night, and with 5 adults in two rooms, none of us slept.

The staff and rooftop patio were the highlights of this hotel; Yasemine kept our rooms spotless and met every need, Elçin the receptionist was wonderful, and Mert worked tirelessly to bring us things; the location was good, breakfast was wonderful with a stunning city view, but a few bathroom fix‑ups were needed and the balcony door sensors were finicky, preventing the AC from staying on.
