“大変だったが、面白かった。”
I was just a few stops – about 4‑5 – from Sol station on the Madrid metro, right in the middle of the nightlife. The next door was a sports bar where I watched a Real Madrid match live for the first time. The room was compact but had everything I needed, including a kettle, which was a nice touch for young travelers. The real issue was that this place wasn’t a typical hotel but more like a homestay inside a mixed‑use building; I spent about 30 minutes wandering around the area to find it. There was no front desk, so I had to do a self‑check‑in, but the equipment was jammed and the door wouldn’t open. I went up a floor and found a receptionist from another hotel; after explaining my situation with Google Translate, she came over, entered the code, and the door opened with a bang! She walked me to the room and explained everything, and I was very grateful. Traveling with my son in his thirties made me feel reassured, and overall it was a good experience.
