Seaspray at Blackhouse Bothies sits in a wonderfully peaceful spot, perfectly integrated into the landscape. The design is thoughtful and clever, making the most of the space to create comfort and calm. The loch views are expansive and constantly shifting with the weather. Joanne is helpful, informative, and very welcoming. We really hope to come back. The Bothies are well positioned for both Harris and Lewis. There was nothing we didn't like.

“Outer hebrides anniversary bucket list holiday.”

The cabin was spotless and cozy, with a wood stove and a view of a stunning lake and mountains—peaceful, no light pollution, just nature sounds. Joanne was a super helpful host, always responsive and stocked us with firewood. Nothing else to complain about; the cooking facilities were fine, though a microwave would be handy for self‑catering.

“I would hugely recommend but bring your slippers”

It was a beautiful set up with magnificent views. The enormous bed was very comfortable and I very much enjoyed the wood burner stove. The lighting was annoying, for someone who pees in the night, you really don’t want automatic illumination when you’re half asleep. No lamp option either. Cold floor, wish I’d bought my slippers, even with the fire going

We received a warm welcome, the location was great, and the hotel was very pet‑friendly, but it would have been nice to have a bit more amenities in the self‑catering area.

“excellent stay breathtaking views and very comfortable facilities would definitley return”

The location in the middle of the island let us explore all day and return in the evening; the views are breathtaking and the silence is incredible, letting you hear any animal noises in the area. A minor point: a small table inside the bothy would have been useful for eating meals, especially since this time of year there are midgies and the cooking facilities and tables are outside.
