LE DJEMBE is a peaceful haven run by Mr. Domingo, an excellent person and a wonderful director. During our short stay he made sure we had everything we needed. The location is ideal for visiting the Island of Shells. On the day we visited, the kitchen at LE DJEMBE was closed, so Mr. Domingo offered us a “take‑away” option and we received delicious hamburgers. It’s beachfront, and after high tide each day it clears the sand, removing floating plastic from the shore. Breakfast is simple but very proper. The pool is essential for cooling off. Everything was very proper.

The staff were very friendly and helpful with check‑in and check‑out; the facilities were clean and well maintained, you can hear the sea from the rooms and terrace, and the price‑to‑quality ratio is 10. The only downside was that the breakfast lacked variety, but given the cost it was still quite acceptable.

A fantastic spot to unwind, enjoy great Senegalese food, stroll by the sea, explore Fadiouth Island, take trips to Siné Saloum, and visit the African Art Museum in Guilor, all with very welcoming staff and a super friendly owner. Nothing to complain about, except that payment by VISA card is required.
