The hotel had a washer and dryer, an open-air bath on the roof, was close to the station, and the market was right downstairs; a left turn from the main entrance led straight to the red brick, and there were also good restaurants to try.

I appreciated that the room had a free laundry machine, and the view from the open-air bath was great, but the changing area felt a bit cramped.

The highlight of my visit was the Osen on the 18th floor, which stood out as the best feature of the hotel, and everything else worked perfectly.

“Don't even think of checking in early, they like to see everyone in line and uncomfortable!”

Location was pretty central. A bit too close to the morning market, though. Washer/dryer worked well and they gave Attack Zero for laundry soap. Meal offerings at hotel were sparse. Ice cream place in lobby was overpriced. The staff was pretty rude. We understand there is a check in time of 3 pm however we have never stayed in a hotel that did not allow even a 15 minute early check in if the rooms were available. This place was being strict to the point of just being stupidly mean. There were only three couples that had to wait all day to check in and they would not allow anyone to check in until exactly 3 pm. So instead of getting those three couples checked in at 2:30 or pm and out of the lobby they relished in having everyone stand in line and wait until exactly 3 pm. As if there were dozens and dozens cleaning folks finishing all the rooms at one time magically at 3 pm. We had even sent note asking if we could pay to check in early and they never responded. Really poor customer service - I felt like I was in a really spiteful and low class country, not Japan
