We adored the old‑world vibe of the building and the little touches like the steps in the bathroom that let us catch a better sea view. Antique furnishings and maritime accents in the corridors added charm, and the breakfast bar was a nice touch. The breakfast itself was excellent and the surroundings lovely. Nothing to complain about!

Everything was in an acceptable to good range. The room was a mix of older and somewhat newer furnishings. The best part was the location near the Baltic Sea and the city centre. The hotel sits right next to the “RÜGEN‑HOTEL” run by the same owner, apparently used for staff savings. Reception seems only sporadically staffed and sometimes closed, so you have to go to the RÜGEN‑HOTEL reception. Try it yourself to see how long you can still use your room key on the departure day (officially until 11.00 am). If, as in my case, the lock system’s clock takes over, you must first return to the neighbour’s reception to extend the card so you can retrieve the last items from the room. Overall, the price‑to‑value ratio is acceptable, especially when a big event like SailGP Sassnitz happens, when rates jump to fantasy prices.

The view from the room was stunning, the place was clean, and breakfast was good. The exhaust fan was noisy even with the bathroom door closed.

Very large rooms with fantastic views. The breakfast buffet was extensive and you could indicate personal preferences. The atmosphere felt like an old sailors’ home. Walking to the centre and the harbour is easy. The staff’s language skills could improve, but they were friendly and helpful.
