The location of this hotel is perfect for exploring Durham city centre and the train station is just a stone's throw away.
The breakfast selection here is seriously impressive - I mean, where else can you get eggs benedict, waffles, and a full English all in one go?
The room was spotless, and they'd even provided an iron, ironing board, and hair dryer, which was a nice touch.
The room itself was a decent size, but what really caught my eye was the massive bed – it was huge!

“Overall, a good stay. Good location and excellent nights sleep”
The breakfast had a good selection, but both of us had poached eggs on different days and each time they were over‑cooked—mine was almost a hard‑boiled egg—and that was the only issue.
“Fantastic stay, will return.”
The spot is great for visiting Beamish, the staff were fantastic and very friendly, the room was comfy, the dinner was lovely and the breakfast good, so I’d definitely return.
“Refused use of room. I will be instructing solicitors.”
Although I paid in advance. We were refused a room at checkin time of 15.00hrs. Due to scurrilous rumours about fraudulent behavior. I will of course be instructing solicitors. The attitude of the staff. Taking my money, then refusing us use of the room
“Looks pretty and cozy but the reality is different”
The location is good, the staff are nice, and the building looks pretty from the outside, but the smell is awful, the hotel is under renovation and that should be mentioned, the rooms smell ugly, the bathroom floor was dirty, and the beds are very uncomfortable.

The parking and bar were useful, but the building site outside made the pipes noisy and the TVs were loud, and the room didn’t block sound well.
