We landed in a luxurious room that Sam upgraded for me because it was my birthday, and the breakfast was one of the best English breakfasts I've ever tasted, thanks to the high‑quality ingredients and the variety of other good menu options; however, the hotel can get a bit noisy in the evenings because the downstairs is open plan, and I would have appreciated brighter reading lights by the bed.

Charles the manager and the rest of the team were exceptionally good, friendly and efficient, the accommodation was comfortable and the food outstanding, and everything was fine.
