We absolutely loved staying here. The location is superb, just a few minutes’ walk from the centre of Haputale, with breathtaking views from the shared balcony and dining area—you can even see all the way to the east coast on a clear day. The communal areas are spacious and a wonderful place to relax. The host was exceptionally warm, welcoming and spoke excellent English. His advice on local walks was invaluable, and thanks to him we enjoyed the beautiful downhill Pekoe Trail Stage 13 after watching the sunrise at Lipton’s Seat. He even packed us breakfast to take with us, which was a thoughtful touch we really appreciated. We left in a hurry and didn’t get the chance to thank him properly, but his kindness made our stay very special. The room was fairly basic and would benefit from a deeper clean. The shower could also be improved, and the Wi-Fi wasn’t particularly reliable. However, these were relatively minor issues compared with the excellent location, stunning views and wonderful hospitality

The friendliness and the views are 10. In our room there was a lot of humidity, the owner offered us a room with one bed and better views but since my brother and I were traveling together, we preferred the two‑bedroom one and that’s it.

The view from the accommodation is stunning, and the dinner service is a real treat—plenty of food and delicious. The room is roomy, and the location is great for walking from the station. The welcome was excellent, and the manager arranged a trip to Lipton Seat that was breathtaking. There was a bit of dampness in the room, with stains on the walls, but that was tolerable for a single night.

The guesthouse is well positioned close to the center and offers a fantastic view of the valley. It’s clean, accommodating, and offers great value for money.
