The environment was very comfortable, and the owner and his family were attentive and thoughtful. There were also night‑tour activities that let me learn a lot about Kyoto, and standing on the mountain to see the night view made the whole trip feel complete.

“Fantastic guesthouse with the most adorable owners”

I LOVED staying at this guesthouse; it felt like being with family thanks to the two adorable owners. They offered a ton of food and activity recommendations, and the owner even gave us a free car tour with stories about the city and an amazing nighttime view of Kyoto! He loves Kyoto so much that it was contagious, haha! The facilities were fantastic, with plenty of free sanitary products, a shared fridge, free coffee and tea, and a free laundry service (the owner herself offered to do your laundry, which she did perfectly!). I couldn’t recommend this guesthouse more; it was my favorite of the entire trip, thanks a lot! The room was a little small, but I spent most of my time outside, so it was fine. Be careful with large, heavy suitcases because the stairs are narrow.

The location was excellent. The hosts were friendly, everything I needed was available, the hair dryer really dries, toiletries and drinks were provided. When I stayed, there were eight people in the house (men separately) but it was very quiet. The bed had the necessary items. It was comfortable ☺️. I also forgot my portable charger, and they sent it to me in Tokyo, for which I’m very grateful. At the first meeting they gave me a map, recommended places, and handed me photo‑postcards made by the host 😍.

Thank you very much, Mr. Li, for your hospitality; this Kyoto trip was spectacular because of you. Mr. Li is a friendly, knowledgeable, and humorous scholar who gave me plenty of travel advice, chatted with me, and offered deep insights. Thank you for letting me experience Kyoto’s beauty in depth and for the many life lessons. I stayed in a tatami single room that was the right size, clean, and convenient for my routine. The inn’s location is excellent, and bus travel can reach Kyoto’s major sights easily. Thank you again for this trip and for Mr. Li. I look forward to seeing you next time!

I genuinely couldn’t find a better place to stay in Kyoto. The owner is amazing, very kind and helpful, recommending the best spots and even offering a night tour around the city, sharing many interesting facts about the area. The place itself was cozy, and staying in a Japanese‑styled room was a great cultural experience not offered by many other accommodations. Coffee, tea, cosmetics and other necessities were provided, making the stay even more comfortable. The guesthouse’s location was perfect—quiet neighborhood, yet close to tourist areas and many great spots. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone traveling to Kyoto.
