Located on the shores of Chongcho lake, Lakeshore Hotel Hsinchu features 4 on-site restaurants, an indoor pool, and free WiFi and parking. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the lake and a 15-minute drive from Hsinchu train station, with Hsinchu HSR station 30 minutes away. Air-conditioned rooms include a sofa, flat-screen TV, and private bathroom with slippers.

We came mainly with a four‑year‑old, and both the playroom and the pool area were excellent; the playroom looked clearly well‑cleaned and maintained, so the child could play safely. The room felt damp, probably because of the continuous rain, and the lighting design could use a tweak – the whole room is rather dim while the lamp above the bed is comparatively harsh.

The children’s play area was spacious and a real treat for the kids, but the guestroom had poor soundproofing, so we heard noises from the hallway at night. The bathroom shower had a mouldy smell, the floor was dusty, and overall the room’s cleanliness left something to be desired.

The staff were warm and helpful, though the sound insulation was a bit lacking – you could clearly hear the corridor noises from inside the room.

The room was pretty clean and the bedding felt very comfy, while the play area was absolutely fantastic with older staff leading activities that kept the kids thrilled; breakfast was tasty and even featured a line‑up of singing and dancing, making it a perfect family‑friendly hotel, though the car park was a bit far away and the layout made it awkward to get back to the front door when checkout was crowded.
