The facilities look old and neglected, but that's typical across the island; I checked a thousand places before booking and they were all similar. I only wanted to avoid bed bugs, and honestly, if it was dirty it didn't bother me. The shower runs cold, but with the heat it's fine because you still have water. The air conditioning works great! At 6 am the mosque chants, but I was so sleepy I didn't notice; just put on earplugs and that's it. It was dirty, but given what’s available in the Perhentians, you get what you pay for – they’re all the same.

Only a few metres from the pier, and they offered a half‑hour late check‑out. The room’s furnishings, bathroom, and overall structure were shabby, the air‑conditioning made noise, and the corridor wall was a glass with a translucent curtain.
