The room matched the description and was perfectly fine for a solo Australian bike rider staying overnight; it was clean and everything was in order, and the restaurants and cafés were within walking distance. There was nothing to dislike.

The hotel was close to the city and the water, but the elevator felt shaky and we feared it might fall apart, so we used the stairs. There were no shower curtains, so water splashed everywhere when we showered. Because the floor carpet in the room was very old, it seemed far from clean, having been there for many years.

“Not recommended”

The hallway and room had a new clean carpet, but we booked a suite and were shocked to find a large room stripped down to the bare essentials instead of the many amenities promised: only one dim 2‑inch ceiling light worked in the living area, and the bedroom light was insufficient for reading. The bathroom smelled of drainage, the old shower unit was rusty and the sole shower head barely worked. The suite had only one AC unit in the living area, which was inadequate for such a large space.
