“Beautiful”
A very beautiful and relaxing place to stay, with comfortable rooms and friendly owners. There are plenty of spots to explore nearby, and a pub/restaurant is just a 5‑minute walk away. Nothing we didn't like.

The location was fine, but when we arrived the WiFi and TV were both non‑functional, and the only seating in the minimal living area was a cheap, uncomfortable sofa bed. The advertised castle view actually came from about 100 yards up the towpath, not from our room, which explains why many photos in the description belong to Mischicks Day Spa at St Andrews Lakes instead, which is amazing. I had planned a romantic weekend with my wife for her birthday, but after a 15‑minute walk with our luggage along the towpath from the nearest paid parking, still not raining and still in daylight, avoiding many cyclists, what we encountered was so disappointing that we decided not to stay at all, even though we live within an hour’s drive. When I told the host about our disappointment they admitted they knew the WiFi was unreliable but had done nothing about it, a point echoed in other reviews. If you just need a base to see the sights, it might work, though it’s pricey for a single bed and a long walk from the nearest parking. If you’re after a cosy, comfortable, romantic break, look elsewhere.

The boat was comfy, cosy, and in a great spot to explore Kent; we especially liked that a cot and highchair were provided, saving us the trouble of carrying them from the car park, and the shower was much roomier than we expected, a nice luxury. The WiFi wasn’t great, but that actually meant we spent less time online, so it wasn’t all bad.

The place was lovely and peaceful, and Tara was very helpful; some weekend joggers on the towpath can be annoying but that isn’t the owners’ fault, just a matter of people’s behaviour. We enjoyed the stay and would come back anytime, though the noisy joggers were a drawback and we didn’t fully enjoy the location because we were out all day; neither the owners nor the location were to blame. We would still book again.

The spot was super calm and peaceful, but the WiFi was awful and they didn't give any cleaning supplies or dish soap.
