“Heel 'basic', maar okay”

We stayed one night in a simple, basic room with a bed and a private shower—just what we needed. The place was close to the bus terminal we needed the next morning, so we chose Larosa Hostel. The host was very friendly, spoke good English, and was very helpful. It was nice that we could use the kitchen facilities in the morning for our own breakfast. The bed wasn’t very comfortable (thin mattress), but it was okay for a single night. There were only a few restaurants nearby. The pool looked good in the pictures but wasn’t really appealing to swim in, so we skipped it.

“Insolito ma tranquillo”

I spent two calm and relaxing days after weeks of traveling around Palawan. The simple setup allowed me to settle in and find some personal time.

The location was fine, but there was a strong odor of dampness, it wasn’t clean, no Wi‑Fi all day, no sink, electricity was often missing, and construction was happening all day with a lot of noise. They didn’t refund me for two nights even though the conditions weren’t met on their side!

The kitchen was handy, neighbours were quiet, and although it was far from everything we had a car so that wasn’t an issue. Free parking was inside. The room itself was very basic, but we liked having a big screen by the bed to watch movies.

“Hermosa y confortable!”

The property was very pretty! The owner was super kind, always helped us with everything, and communicated well in English. There’s a cute little dog that was great, and we had a lovely time! We could use the kitchen to cook and had no problems. The only thing missing was better bathroom facilities for guests. It didn’t have hot water (the owner offered us another bathroom if we didn’t want to use cold water), and it lacked a bidet, a toilet seat cover, and a sink for brushing teeth or washing the face. These were minor issues since we could do it in the kitchen, and overall we had a great stay.
