The views and surroundings were the only redeeming features; the hotel is off the island and only reachable by boat, with just three trips daily between 7 pm and 9 pm, and any early sunrise trip to Tikal or dinner after 9 pm costs an extra €12‑15—a rip considering Tikal is only 1½ hours away and Xanha two hours—while the place itself wasn’t very clean.

For nature lovers and those craving tranquility, it’s acceptable, but its remoteness means you have to plan transportation carefully. We didn’t get breakfast, and I wasn’t clear on the staff’s schedule; in fact, when I left the keys, I had to hang them up myself.

Excellent service, they let us check in early, the food and drinks were delicious, the room was spotless and the place beautiful. The people were fantastic; I’d recommend it a thousand times. The only downside was that the room I stayed in didn’t have a TV.
