“Highly recommend”

The staff were amazing, especially Ernesto and his colleagues, and I’m sorry I can’t recall the name of the other front‑desk person or the Brazilian woman who chatted with us the next morning; everyone was attentive and adorable. Midweek and off‑peak, we got a room upgrade and late check‑out, and the views were breathtaking. The room was comfortable, spacious, and the pillows were good, with an outlet right next to the bed for convenience. The amenities were solid, the breakfast had a good variety, and the spa was available for a €15 charge, while onsite parking cost €15 per night. Minor issues included a bedside lamp that was too bright, a room that was a bit hot with no temperature control, and a ceiling fan that didn’t cool enough.

The breakfast was generous and varied: two chefs made omelettes and crispy toast, there was a hot food corner with sausages, bacon, vegetable stir‑fry, tomatoes, etc., a large selection of cheeses and cold cuts, fruit, muesli, and two fruit juices that were supposedly made fresh but the labels said they were nectars, so they were sweetened. I stayed in room 1001, which overlooked the mountain side and mostly showed a street and a wall; the room also had a strong smell, and when I tried to ventilate, cigarette smoke from outside drifted in, suggesting a nearby smoking area. The elevator was two floors away; when it moved, the whole bed vibrated and made a clacking noise, and around 10 pm a car rattled through the corridors, followed by a conversation on the other side that I couldn’t understand but could sense the language. I almost decided to sleep in my car outside the hotel, but sleep overtook me and perhaps the elevator rides were fewer that night. Around 7 am the elevator woke me. I had booked this hotel because it supposedly had a nice wellness area, but those who book via Booking must pay an extra €15, which isn’t prominently displayed; I should have booked directly on the hotel site, but a technical issue made that impossible, so I was only offered the paid access. The wellness area opens at 11 am and closes at 10 pm, so I would have had only a short window to use it, making the €15 fee not worth it.

The pool and sauna were great, and breakfast was varied and high quality. The parking costs extra, the spots are very small, and it's hard for a large vehicle.
