“Un peu déçu”
It’s very well located, quiet, and a 3‑minute walk to the center and the beach. The bungalows are pleasant, the bathrooms are spacious, and breakfast is decent and free. We were surprised by the overly positive reviews about the reception—our experience was the opposite. The welcome was cold and without a smile. We were supposed to stay in the upper rooms where it was extremely hot, so we asked if we could move to the bungalows (same price) and were charged 300 pesos per night for putting a mattress on the floor; we stayed three nights and were finally asked to pay 350 pesos. We had no choice because of the stairs to the floor or the room, as my husband was recovering from a fractured foot. This was the first time we were charged for cold filtered water at 10 pesos for 75 ml. We asked for the price of a tuk‑tuk to Bigaho and it was far higher than the tuk‑tuks on the street. Everything seems designed to make us pay more.
