The room was quite spacious and had everything—shower gel, shampoo, towels, etc. The staff were pleasant and caring. However, when we arrived we left our rental car keys with the parking attendant. At the end of our stay, while heading to the Agafay desert, we noticed the car had a slight dent on the front. We had been in Essaouira before arriving at Sofitel, and we have a photo proving the car was in perfect condition then. Fortunately the deposit wasn’t taken.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were absolutely professional. I didn’t like being woken every morning by nearby children playing, even though I mentioned it to reception.

Great food and a spacious setting with both outdoor and indoor seating. Nothing bad, really. Maybe a bit far from better restaurants, but walking after a meal isn’t a bad idea. I wish they’d host performances and concerts by the pool instead of in the lobby.

The check‑in staff were exceptional; we received a welcome drink and smiles everywhere. We were first assigned a room without an ocean view, which wasn’t what I paid for. Repeated requests were needed for hand towels, and I even had to ask the front desk if they were short on towels; it was finally resolved, but it felt like an act of God to get it handled. The AC worked but barely; we were only here one night. The greeting was excellent, but after spending hours changing rooms in an uncomfortable, muggy room, everything else was eclipsed. Comfort was missing. At checkout Omar was extremely disrespectful, aggressive, and refused to provide basic customer service. No manager was present after repeated requests to speak with one, all over simply asking for an invoice of my stay. The checkout representative needs major retraining on customer interaction; his disrespectful tone, attitude, and demeanor were unwanted and unwarranted, and this interaction magnified our already bad experience with maintenance and housekeeping.
