Aldercarr Hall

The surroundings were beautiful and the room was nicely decorated, but no staff were ever seen, the room stayed cold until the heating finally kicked in, the shower had terrible water pressure, the toilet cistern didn’t always fill, and despite many comments about the water issue, it still seemed unresolved; the basic breakfast was offered.

“Just run away. Breakfast was expired rotten products, it is a health hazard and should be closed down. Also, no one ther”

The location was fine, but there were more than 20 spiders in our room—an absolute spider infestation that felt like a horror movie.

“Beautiful location, room not up to standard.”

The location is stunning, the grounds are beautiful with deer running in the garden, and the little breakfast was nice. The rooms, however, did not meet standards: spiders, cobwebs, and dirt everywhere; they weren’t cleaned properly; the door was covered in grime; the beds would fly around when touched and had no lock to keep them still; the room smelled damp upon arrival; it felt very old and poorly maintained. Towels were very small, thin, and only one was provided for the whole stay. The shower had to be held in your hand to use and it didn’t stay up. I was not impressed at all, sadly.

The room was nice and the breakfast, while basic, was presented neatly and was fine. The shower had low water pressure, making it a bit difficult, but I managed.

“Overpriced.”

Leaving! The so‑called 'Alercarr Hall' is actually a modern house with a large garden, outdoor rooms, a beauty parlour and a small indoor pool, and my room faced a gravel car park. The toilet was full of female hair, and breakfast consisted of a bowl of cereal, a yoghurt, a slice of toast and an apple. I would have preferred staying at a Travelodge or Premier Inn.
